Stephanie Cummings is the State Representative for the 74th House District, Waterbury’s East End and East Mountain. She previously served as an Alderwoman for the City of Waterbury.
Stephanie was born and raised in East Mountain, where she still calls home. Stephanie graduated from Sacred Heart Univeristy with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and from Quinnipiac University with a Juris Doctor, cum laude, with concentrations in Civil Advocacy and Tax Law, both with honors. She is an attorney in downtown Waterbury at Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey, LLP.
She has a passion for promoting literacy and serves on the Silas Bronson Library Board of Agents and the Board of Directors of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury. Alongside her amazing teammates she runs Waterbury Reads, an organization dedicated to getting books into the hands of city children to further promote literacy. Stephanie also serves on the Board of Directors for the Waterbury Bar Association.
Earlier this year, Stephanie joined the Waterbury Rail Caucus to amplify her advocacy for a better Waterbury Railway system. The underutilization of this system prevents more development of the Greater Waterbury region and limits residents’ easy access to other areas of the state and to New York.
